Will Cooper is Of Counsel at Conrad|Metlitzky|Kane. His experience spans commercial contract and tort disputes, class actions, intellectual property, trade-secret and employee-mobility matters, gig economy and cryptocurrency issues, defense of public entities and employees, and white-collar matters.

Will has litigated complex issues for clients ranging from individuals and startups to Fortune 100 companies. Since joining the firm, Will has guided clients in civil disputes from the pre-litigation stage through resolution—including crafting discovery strategies, taking and defending depositions, writing and arguing dispositive and other high-stakes motions, and negotiating settlements through direct negotiations and mediation. Will has also conducted sensitive internal investigations and represented targets, subjects, and witnesses in government investigations. His pro bono practice has included litigation to enforce California’s pro-immigrant laws and amicus briefs that have been cited by courts including the U.S. Supreme Court. Will is an active member of the Bay Area legal community, serving as Co-Chair of the Executive Committee of the Barristers Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Will previously practiced at MoloLamken LLP, a leading litigation boutique in Washington, D.C. There he drafted dozens of appellate and Supreme Court briefs and argued a federal appeal that resulted in the reversal of summary judgment against a civil-rights plaintiff. He also handled diverse trial-level litigation, ranging from mortgage-backed-securities lawsuits to confirmation of contested arbitral awards.

Before entering private practice, Will was a law clerk to Judge Stephen A. Higginson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and to Judge Christina A. Snyder on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Will graduated from Stanford Law School, where he was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Environmental Law Journal and a member of the Environmental Law Clinic. A native of Virginia, Will lives in San Francisco with his wife, young daughter, and tireless Labrador Retriever.
